Indonesia car sales 2009

Indonesia cars sales continued to show a significant increase. After a decline in September sales due to the Lebaran Day holiday, the car sales in October rose again. On the basis of wholesale data (car sales by distributors to dealers), sales of cars reached 52,230 units this month, an increase of 40% of sales in September books only 37,206 units.

A total of wholesale January to October 2009 reached 389,700 units, while total industry volume in 2009 is predicted to 430 thousand units, or below 30% of total sales in 2008 reached 607 thousand units to achieve. But if we look at the positive trend shown by the national car sales expected until the end of the year, the sales increase over the initial goal can be reached 460 thousand units.

The wholesale data we have shows that Japanese cars are still a favorite car and keep control of the Indonesia cars sales. From the top ten cars sold in 2009, of which 8 are the sole distributor of Japanese cars in the order of rank one and so on as follows: Toyota, Daihatsu, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Honda, Nissan, Isuzu, Hino and Ford (U.S. car) was ninth followed by Mercedes Benz (European Car) rated a ten.
Meanwhile, Korean cars like Kia and Hyundai and other Asian brands such as Chery and Proton are still unable to the top ten of the national auto market to enter. Japanese vehicle control 94.8% of the national car sales, while the Korean and other Asian cars have only 2.3% and the rest is held by American and European cars.
